Gillian--This is a provocative piece; thanks for writing it. I have not looked at makeup this way. Now #60yo, I think it helps me look more youthful. I don't wear it every day but wish I did bc I look a lot better/prettier/younger/alive with it. But I've never thought of it as a way to entrap a man for his money or to hide the monster in me. Yikes. That gives makeup a lot of power.
