Dera, thanks for writing back. Maybe you are right and it goes without saying that everyone has a good side. You say I was wrong to publicly defend Susan's good side, but I felt that someone needed to do exactly that.

It's not like I was painting a pretty picture of a murderer--but even people on Death Row (like one woman I recently read about, who had a horribly tragic life of abuse as a girl) sometimes have people try to show another side of them. I think it's human nature.

Especially in The Cut article, we learned much, much more about the neighbors' viewpoint. I know the reporter said Susan had not returned calls requesting her comments.

But even before that article, I felt a multi-dimensional person was was being vilified as one-sided. I did find it encouraging at the end....here is the quote from the article by Allison P. Davis: "He doesn't want things to escalate. They finally have peace. Everyone wants it to stay that way."

Word.
